Antiquity, Live in Times Square: Dead Sea Scrolls Event Invites Alumni to Explore Jewish History
On Wednesday, February 15, alumni will have a chance to step back in time at the Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibit and Reception hosted by the Office of Alumni Affairs and featuring Professors Lawrence Schiffman, Moshe Bernstein, and Joseph Angel. Unique Networking Event Brewing in February: Scotch Tasting for Young Alumni
A young alumni scotch tasting will take place the evening of Thursday, February 23, at the Roger Smith Hotel in Manhattan. Aron Ritter ’03SB, founder of the Kosher Wine Society, will have an assortment of scotch (and wine) samples, along with a tasty assortment of meat and fish hors d’oeuvres, for alumni in their 20s and 30s to enjoy. Young alumni will have the chance to mingle with YU friends and perhaps learn of a new favorite scotch (or wine) in the process.
Faculty Fast Facts
Dr. Alexander Kushnir ’06YC received a PhD from Columbia University in 2010 and is working toward an MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, expected in 2012. He has been an adjunct professor of biology at Yeshiva College since he was 21 years old (he is currently 26) and has received numerous grants, awards, and fellowships, as well as sponsorship by YU to present his research at conferences in Israel, Scotland, and Canada.
