Radiation Safety Training

Individuals who wish to work with radioactive
material must receive hands-on training in working with the material in the laboratory and
Radiation Safety Training offered by the RSO. An individual knowledgeable in the use of
the particular radioisotope and experimental technique to be used by the new researcher
should provide the training to new users.
The RSO will offer the Radiation Safety Training on a
routine basis or as needed. The training runs for 3.0 hours and covers principles of
radiation safety as well as radiation safety requirements at AECOM. The Principal
Investigator is responsible for ensuring that all new staff attend the training.
Schedule for Radiation Safety Training:
- August 20, 2008 from 1:30 to 4:30 in the
Forchheimer 5th Floor Lecture Hall.
- October 23, 2008 from 1:30 to 4:30 in the
Forchheimer 3rd Floor Lecture Hall.
- December 17, 2008 from 1:30 to 4:30 in the
Forchheimer 3rd Floor Lecture Hall.
Any class will be cancelled if there are insufficient
participants. Please register in advance in order to receive the training
manual and quiz prior to attending the class. You may apply on-line to attend the training by completing
and submitting the form below.
