"Graduate student life at Einstein"

Albert Einstein College of Medicine

Students

We award about 30 Ph.D.'s a year at Einstein. With nearly 140 faculty overall engaged in basic and biomedical research available for student mentoring the choices are unlimited. There are no boundaries here between departments or programs for students. The programs adjust to your needs, not ours. Students in this program (Training Program in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Genetics) are engaged in a wide rage of studies including projects on HIV/AIDS replication, rational structure-based drug design, and the genetics of RNA synthesis. Students supported by this program have diverse backgrounds and the school has an enviable record in producing successful minority scientists. Most labs are small and mentors are dedicated to training students, not just filling benchspace. Our trainees have gone on to an assortment of exciting science-based careers including postdoctoral work in some of the most prestigious laboratories in the nation.
