The purpose
of the Cell Culture Core Facility is to provide cultured cell
lines and isolated DNA to AECOM investigators and collaborators to
enhance their research efforts on genetic diseases and other
disorders at reduced effort and cost. The Cell Culture Core Facility has three laminar flow bio-safety cabinets, four tissue culture
incubators and eight large liquid nitrogen storage units for cell
repository. This facility provides the following services for
investigators:
-
Epstein Barr
Virus-transformed human B-lymphoblastoid cell lines with a greater
than 90% success rate
-
Genomic DNA
and total RNA
isolation from whole blood, buccal cells and cultured cell lines
-
Whole genome
amplification
-
Generation of hamster-human somatic cell hybrid cell
lines
-
Thawing and
culture of frozen cell lines
-
Cell
repository
-
Shipment of
