Proposal Submission Procedures  

1) Identify an appropriate funding source.

2) Read guidelines to determine:

            Eligibility
           
Competitiveness
           
Application deadline and other requirements.

 3) Obtain Internal Grant Approval Form GA6742:

 Note:  Read the “Guide” and Instructions on Page 4 prior to beginning preparation of this form.  

4) Complete GA6742 including ALL relevant signatures of:

            Principal Investigator
           
Dean of School (YU) or Department Chair (AECOM)
           
Committee on Clinical Investigations (IRB; for projects involving human subjects)
           
Animal Institute (IACUC; for projects involving vertebrate animals)
            Department of Environmental Health and Safety (for projects using infectious agents or hazardous chemicals)
           
Chair of other Yeshiva departments or schools (if applicable)
           
Chair of department or other institutional official at other institutions (if applicable)

 5) Attach the following to GA6742:

            Budget (if Page 5 is not used)
           
Budget justification (if required by funder)
           
All pages of funder application requiring institutional signatures
           
All pages of funder application related to indirect cost calculations
           
All pages of funder application including certifications or statements of assurance.  

6) Submit completed GA6742 with attachments to Grant Accounting (AECOM) at least 8 days prior to the external application deadline.

7) Following review by Grant Accounting, GA6742 will be sent for final institutional approvals to:

            Vice President for Academic Affairs (Yeshiva)
                                    or
            Executive Dean (AECOM).  

Principal Investigators will be notified when final signatures have been obtained. 

8) Principal Investigators submit applications to funding source via:

            Regular mail or express courier (for non-electronic applications)
            Internet (for most non-federal electronic applications)
