Writing the Research Grant Proposal

It has been said that what succeeds in science is not the best idea, but the best defended idea.  The best grant proposals adhere to guidelines, anticipate criticism, and actively solicit interest and approval.  In addition, "clarity" and "focus" are words often heard when reviewers are asked what they like to see in a proposal.  ALWAYS ask others to read and critique your proposal long before the application deadline.
