DEPARTMENT OF UROLOGY

The Department of Urology offers electives in both adult and pediatric urology. Medical students will become integrated into the clinical environment in ward rounds and teaching conferences, clinics, and surgical procedures. By working closely with the urology residents and faculty, students will learn to develop appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic strategies related to genitourinary disease that will be helpful for their future practice of medicine.

The elective can be tailored by the student to concentrate on urologic trauma, oncology, endourology, sexual dysfunction, female urology and infertility. Students are encouraged to participate in clinical research projects whose completion may lead to publication.
