Welcome ... to the Einstein Office of Educational Resources!  We were first established in 1976 as the Office of Educational Research & Evaluation, and mandated to develop a standardized evaluation system for all courses and clerkships offered by the medical school.  The OER is directed by Penny Steiner-Grossman, Ed.D., M.P.H., and the Associate Director is William Burton, Ph.D.  Both Drs. Grossman and Burton have extensive backgrounds in the design and conduct of educational research and evaluation.

Evaluating the Curriculum:

The purpose of the comprehensive evaluations we conduct is to give constructive feedback to course and clerkship leaders, to the Division of Education's curriculum committees, and to all faculty teaching in the various courses (see Curriculum Evaluation).  Our expanded evaluation activities now include the following:

bullet

bullet

Conducting student focus groups to monitor the progress of selected courses

Providing students with timely feedback on the evaluation of first- and second-year courses

bullet

Tracking the feedback of Einstein's graduating classes through the AAMC Graduation Questionnaire

Meeting the Needs of Faculty:

The Office of Educational Resources is committed to fostering the development of specific skills to improve the effectiveness of faculty as educators.  To this end, we collaborate with the Office of Computer-Based Education, directed by Christopher Cimino, M.D., in running a series of workshops enhancing faculty's computer skills.  To see a schedule of computer workshops and to register for any of them, please click here: Faculty Resources

In addition, we offer the following services for faculty:
