CHDI @ Montefiore Einstein The Montefiore Einstein Center for Health Data Innovations (CHDI) is a multidisciplinary unit directed by Parsa Mirhaji MD, PhD. The Center supports Montefiore’s learning health system and builds bridges to research and data technologies that are integrated with clinical practice. CHDI’s education and training programs are based on collaboration, patient engagement, and opportunities for trainees to participate in research. CHDI provides the expertise, methodologies, and infrastructure to leverage multi-source, heterogeneous, and linked data for evidence generation for clinical decision making, predictive analytics, and translational research. Sr. Manager Data Science Engineering Boudewijn holds a B.S in Statistics from the California Polytechnic University of San Luis Obispo. Though he is well versed in machine learning, math and statistics, Boudewijn also has extensive experience with general software engineering principles and application development. Boudewijn currently supports a variety of projects that integrate predictive analytics, data extraction and cleaning, and automated reporting. Shweta Garg, M.S. Data Scientist Shweta holds her Masters in Data Science from the Graduate Center, CUNY, NY. She has a strong background in Mathematics and Statistics, with a recipient of the prestigious National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM) fellowships during her education in India. Her expertise is to apply machine learning techniques from data wrangling to model generation in a variety of structured and unstructured data. Prior to joining Einstein, she extensively worked as a Data analyst at various organizations. Dinesh Gottipalli, M.S. Software Developer Dinesh graduated with an M.S. from University at Albany SUNY. He is proficient in traditional application development as well as in development of software based on service oriented architectures. Currently he focuses on developing dynamic, intuitive graphical user interfaces to facilitate data input, exploration, and cataloging. In his free time he enjoys solving computational challenges, exploring interesting technologies like semantic web, and watching keynotes from industry conventions. Hridish Iyer, M.E. Senior Software Engineer Hridish holds a Bachelors and Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Mumbai University, India. He has extensive work experience in software development. His areas of interest include data-analysis, exploring and learning new technologies and listening to music. Kasra Jabbary, M.S., M.A. Data Scientist Health Economist Kasra holds an M.A. in Health Economics from the State University of New York at Buffalo and an M.S. in Economics Programming and System Analysis from Azad Science & Research University of Tehran, Iran. Kasra has knowledge of the health care industry and U.S health system. His primary focus is to use machine learning algorithms and their implementation in Python for Health related Analytics. Currently he focuses on developing statistical algorithms, data exploration and visualization with health care related datasets. Devdatta Kanawade, M.S. Sr. Software Engineer Devdatta holds a M.S. in Computer Science from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, AL. He has extensive experience in pre-sales (RFI/RFP/POC) and full-lifecycle implementation for insurance applications and enterprise application integration with top tier organizations in North America. He has successfully lead multiple project implementations from inception to production, demonstrating his skills in requirement analysis, software design, and automation. Besides Software Engineering, he likes to explore the field of Nano Technology. Shuntaro Kawakami, B.S. Sr. Software Engineer Shuntaro holds an B.S. degree in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh. He has extensive experience in application development including high volume E-Commerce application in Java and Scala utilizing various tools and frameworks at various industries. He has always been passionate about learning the latest technologies. Jeannette Lindquist, M.B.A. Director of Operations Jeannette holds an MBA in Marketing from NYU Stern Business School. Jeannette has extensive experience in administrative, operations, financial and personnel issues across a variety of organizations. Rahil Mehrizi, Ph.D. Postdoctoral Research Fellow Rahil holds a PhD from Rutgers University and has extensive experience with Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Image Analysis. Her previous research explored the implementation of computer vision algorithms for Biomechanics applications. At CHDI, she uses Machine Learning to develop predictive healthcare models based on patients data. Chandra has Nelapatla, M.S. Manager, Software Engineering Chandra holds an M.S. in Computer Science from University of Nebraska, Lincoln. He has extensive knowledge and expertise of EPIC systems and architecture and has undergone multiple EPIC trainings. He will apply his experience and skills in building interfaces and pipelines to and from EPIC systems for development of the Epic link to the genomic data visualization tool and building other necessary EMR/EPIC related infrastructure. Surbhi Obeja, M.S. Software Engineer, Informatics Surbhi has her Masters in Computer Science from Marist College, Poughkeepsie, NY. She has extensive experience as a business and data analyst, working with databases, warehouses and translating business needs to actionable data and analytics. She is also a skilled engineer with a lot of experience in applying analysis, design, programming to convert project/system requirements into applications. Jinal Patel, M.S. Software Developer Jinal holds an MS in Computer Science from State University at Albany. She has experience developing java applications. Currently she focuses on developing Web Services and User Interfaces. In her free time she likes learning new technologies. Alexandre Peshansky, M.Sc. Lead Bioinformatics Analyst Alex holds a M.Sc. degree in Computer Sciences from the Moscow Polytechnic University, USSR. He has extensive experience in providing informatics services in health care research environments including analysis, design, programming and maintaining interactive and batch applications on different platforms and developing and maintaining a data center. He is trained with high-level data privileges within the EHR replicate workspace. Saurabh Rawal, M.S. Technical Director, Software Engineering Saurabh has his Masters in Computer Science from Marist College, Poughkeepsie, NY. He has extensive experience leading technology teams for building enterprise grade applications in many domains. He also has extensive experience working with clinical domain models, terminologies and building informatics platforms for health data integration and analytics. He has led technology development and architecture in large health consortiums including the NYC-CDRN. He is currently leading engineering and evolution of Montefiore's SDL analytics platform. Mahendranath Reddy Rangareddy, M.Tech. Senior Bioinformatics Analyst Mahendranath holds an MTech Degree in Electrical Engineering from National Institute of Technology Calicut, India. He has extensive experience in designing and building data warehouse and reporting applications. He works with the research teams and applies his experience and skills in building interfaces and pipelines. He has knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their implementation in Python. He will be assisting in research and development of Data Science projects. Selvin Soby, PharmD Technical Lead, Epic Selvin received his Doctorate in Pharmacy from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in Philadelphia, PA and completed a 2 year residency in Pharmacy Informatics at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He worked on the Montefiore Epic implementation team and most recently, worked as the Product Manager for the Epic Pharmacy module. Selvin has extensive experience with several Epic data models and has focused on leveraging them for initiatives related to improving patient outcomes. He will be utilizing his knowledge to help incorporate the Epic EHR and associated data towards CHDI’s strategic goals. Lindsay Stahl M.S., M.A. Sr. Business Analyst Lindsay Stahl holds an MS in Epidemiology from Columbia University and an MA in Psychology and Animal Behavior from CUNY - Hunter College. Her combined clinical and research background pair to provide an optimal training and support environment for the informatics applications. She has extensive experience in research in the academic, pharmaceutical and healthcare realms. Nagaraj Reddy Thumukuntla, M.S. System Engineer Nagaraj holds an MS degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL. He has experience in Systems Administration, maintaining a security compliance environment, providing engineering solutions and implementing different tools and monitoring solutions. He is passionate about technology and learning new things. Sudhakar Veeraraghavan, M.S. Software Engineer/EPIC Bridges Interfaces Sudhakar obtained his MS in Computer Applications from National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, India. He has extensive experience in Healthcare Integration. He cherishes developing good standard high quality HL7 interfaces and had the opportunity to integrate numerous Epic Bridges interfaces for major hospitals across California. He has developed and lead several integration conversion projects from legacy EMR (Cerner, AllScripts, NextGen etc.) systems to Epic. He also holds active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and has successfully managed and delivered several projects in the past. He has working expertise in standards and modules including HL7 v2.3, HL7 FHIR, Epic Bridges, Epic Chronicles, EpicCare Ambulatory, and IBM DB2 database fundamentals. He is a good team player and always has a vision for process improvement. Manuel Wahle, M.S. Technical Lead, Software Engineering Manuel holds an M.S. degree in Computer Science from the RWTH Aachen University, Germany, and an M.S. in Health Informatics from the School of Biomedical Informatics in Houston, TX. He has an extensive background in the biomedical domain with publications in biomolecular visualization and information retrieval. Manuel developed a keen interest for software engineering leveraging semantic web technologies, leading to his current position as the Technical Lead of the team at Montefiore/Einstein. He is responsible for the design and architecture of the Semantic Data Lake platform, advancing the state of the art in information integration and processing, practical problem solving, and knowledge generation.
